Thérèse Mulgrew (b. 1991) is a Chicago-based oil painter whose work explores themes of memory, ritual, and human connection. Drawing inspiration from shared meals and classical still-life paintings, she creates intimate works that examine the emotional significance of everyday objects and spaces.

Influenced by photography, cinema, and her background in the fashion industry, Mulgrew approaches painting as a process of observation and reflection. Her work often centers around food, table settings, and collected vintage objects, using them as vessels for exploring desire, identity, and belonging. Through carefully composed imagery, she investigates the ways personal histories and relationships become embedded within the material world.

Originally from Iowa, Mulgrew studied English literature at the University of Iowa and later took painting and drawing classes at the Art Students League and the New York Studio School in New York City.
